Continuing where we left off yesterday, we’re finalizing v0.0.8 of Bonsai. This version will be what I consider the first MVP. I mean, technically speaking, Bonsai was an MVP since day one. But this will be the first version I’m proud enough of to promote– or at least not ashamed of.
I think it was Reid Hoffman that said, “If you’re not embarrassed by the first version of your product then you’re launching too late”. I mean, that’s debatable. In his case, maybe that works. In my case, I feel like the quality of the first version speaks for the entire product itself. Maybe that’s because I’m not a household name like Reid Hoffman. But I wanted to at least be a little proud of the first version. Maybe that’s the designer in me.
It’s still early days, and I’m still mostly embarrassed, but there are a few things I’m a little proud of.
Today I’m going to finish up the laundry list of final details I need to sort out. I think after today’s stream, v0.0.8 will be ready to go. Then I’ll be doing some private work on it while I encrypt database configurations and security keys.
Continuation of the Part II stream from earlier today. Polishing up v0.0.8 for release.
